Next week, as Alyssa Farah Griffin begins her maternity leave, multiple guest hosts are slated to fill in on The View. I was somewhat taken aback to discover Savannah Chrisley’s inclusion. The View has not always spoken favorably about her parents, Todd and Julie, who served prison time for tax evasion before receiving a pardon from Donald Trump. Consequently, Savannah has issued a caution to her future co-panelists, indicating she remembers their past remarks.
Savannah Chrisley Issues A Stern Message To The View Co-Hosts
Savannah Chrisley, known for her family’s reality series Chrisley Knows Best, announced she will be the inaugural guest co-host alongside Whoopi Goldberg and others next week on The View, broadcast on weekdays according to the 2026 TV schedule. Being an outspoken supporter of Trump, Chrisley anticipates encountering differing political viewpoints and, as she posted on X, she looks forward to the forthcoming discussions, stating:
I am excited to co-host [The View] during the week of February 16th! My conviction is that one should engage with those who hold different opinions without compromising one’s core values for the sake of others’ comfort. My principles are rooted in faith, family, and freedom. My aspiration for this week is to foster greater unity and diminish discord.
Nevertheless, considering the remarks made by certain co-hosts regarding her parents during their legal challenges, these individuals may need to be ready to address their comments directly to Savannah, as she further stated:
However, I must emphasize this: I have not overlooked the public criticism leveled against my family by some of these very individuals. Forgiveness does not necessitate forgetfulness.
Since their 2022 conviction, Savannah Chrisley has been a steadfast advocate for her parents, attributing their legal troubles to the government and asserting that the justice system had failed them. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she claimed Todd and Julie Chrisley endured “persecution” by the justice system. It appears that some of The View co-hosts were not pleased when the Chrisleys’ ties to the White House resulted in presidential pardons.
Past Commentary from The View Hosts Regarding the Chrisleys
Ana Navarro also contributed to the discussion, following Whoopi Goldberg’s query about whether Americans have become desensitized to such occurrences or if they would find it objectionable. Navarro stated:
Absolutely, I do. I believe it’s imperative for us as Americans to resist normalizing this, to avoid growing accustomed to it, and to prevent its perpetuation, as this conduct is neither normal, honest, nor ethical. Essentially, a massive ‘For Sale’ sign has been erected on the White House lawn, implying that if you’re a supporter or a donor, you can acquire pardons.
Savannah Chrisley has actively refuted allegations that she secured her parents’ pardon through purchase (or by “sleeping with someone”), leading me to surmise this topic will probably surface during Chrisley’s appearance.
However, the pardon granted to Todd and Julie Chrisley wasn’t the sole catalyst for The View’s discussions about the reality television family. In 2022, Joy Behar, while criticizing Trump, labeled the stars of Chrisley Knows Best as “idiots,” remarking (as reported by Decider):
He orchestrated this insurrection, evades his taxes, absconds with documents — including nuclear codes — to Mar-a-Lago. He’s free, campaigning for president, while these two fools are heading to jail. How is that fair? I simply don’t comprehend it.
It will be compelling to observe Savannah Chrisley’s appearance on The View, particularly given the pronounced ideological divide between liberal and conservative viewpoints on the program, and the unsettling experiences reported by conservative figures such as Cheryl Hines. Catch Chrisley at the panel on ABC, Tuesday, February 17, at 11 a.m. ET.
