Masters 2026 odds, betting, lines: Scottie Scheffler (+500) once again the favorite at Augusta

Next week, the 2026 Masters tournament kicks off in Augusta, Georgia. Scottie Scheffler, a well-known name in golf, is currently favored to claim the year’s opening major championship, with BetMGM listing him at +500 odds.

Scheffler previously secured his second green jacket by winning the 2024 Masters with a four-stroke lead. In last year’s event, he placed fourth at -8, trailing the 2025 Masters champion, Rory McIlroy (-11), by three shots. McIlroy earned his inaugural Augusta title following a playoff victory against Justin Rose, while Patrick Reed (-9) secured third place.

Prior to last year’s competition, Scheffler entered as a +450 favorite, and he was similarly favored at +500 odds heading into the 2024 Masters.

Following Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau, a two-time U.S. Open winner, share the second-best odds for this year’s championship at 10-1. They are trailed by Jon Rahm (12-1), Ludvig Aberg (14-1), and Xander Schauffele (14-1). According to BetMGM, no other contenders have odds more favorable than 20-1.

Scottie Scheffler has maintained his exceptional performance throughout 2026, having already won The American Express in January. He has consistently placed within the top 25 in all his tournaments this year, which includes three finishes in the top five.

Attention was heavily focused on the situation involving Tiger Woods, following a car crash last Friday afternoon that led to his arrest after he failed a field sobriety test. An affidavit released on Tuesday indicated that police officers found two hydrocodone pills in his pants pocket and that Woods informed police he had been using his phone prior to the incident.

Despite being a five-time Masters victor, Woods remained on the entry list with 250-1 odds at BetMGM as of Tuesday afternoon. However, he subsequently declared his intention to step away from golf “for a period of time” to undergo treatment and concentrate on his personal recovery.

Typically, The Masters attracts more wagers than any other golf event annually. This is attributable both to its widespread popularity and the fact that sportsbooks maintain open futures odds for the tournament almost continuously throughout the year.
