Texas Tech’s JT Toppin goes down with apparent leg injury vs. Arizona State

Tuesday night proved to be a tough outing for Texas Tech. The Red Raiders faced challenges on the road against Arizona State, compounded by a key player sustaining an injury.

Forward JT Toppin suffered an apparent leg injury late in the second half of the Tuesday night contest. The incident occurred when Toppin landed awkwardly near the baseline at Mullett Arena after going up for a basket.

It remains uncertain whether Toppin’s injury was the result of a collision with an Arizona State defender or a non-contact event. He immediately clutched his right knee before being assisted to the sideline by a Texas Tech trainer and head coach Grant McCasland.

Toppin, a product of Oak Cliff Faith Family, spent a brief period on the bench before being helped back to the locker room. He was observed putting very little weight on his right leg as he exited.
