One of the key narratives of the upcoming offseason revolves around the future of Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. Should the Raiders opt to trade him, the Chicago Bears emerge as a highly probable destination.
Amidst a deluge of speculation, largely fueled by figures like Jay Glazer, who stated during Super Bowl week that Crosby is “done” with the Raiders, Crosby himself has remained mostly silent.

A recent interview featuring Bears quarterback Caleb Williams on Crosby’s podcast is currently generating buzz.
The particular remark that has captured the most attention comes from Crosby to Williams near the conclusion of the 68-minute broadcast: “Just to be open and honest, bro, like we talked about earlier, but respect at a different level, bro. You’re one of those guys, for sure, and you’re just getting started. I don’t even know you understand yet how good you can be, and that’s the scariest part. You know what I mean? Just keep that mindset, keep doing what you’re doing. You know we’re locked in forever. So keep doing your thing, bro. You need me, hit me at any time. It goes vice versa.”
The Raiders have exhibited no indications of wanting to trade Crosby. However, if Crosby truly intends not to play for the Raiders, the team’s options could narrow to either trading him or him effectively retiring.
Moreover, a precedent was established almost eight years ago, when the Raiders sent a disgruntled defensive end, Khalil Mack, to the Bears in exchange for a package notably featuring two first-round draft picks.
Could such a scenario unfold again? First, the Raiders must commit to trading Crosby. If they do, the Bears stand out as a highly logical choice.
