By 5 a.m., rain had spread across North and Central Georgia. Intense downpours were observed in sections of Paulding, Douglas, and Fulton counties, heading towards Barnesville and Griffin. Although isolated thunder might occur, the system is primarily delivering much-needed precipitation to the area.

Anticipate the rain to lessen around or soon after sunrise, transitioning into a partly cloudy, mild, and breezy afternoon.

Traffic has already been affected, however. A collision on the southbound east side of Interstate 285 near LaVista Road briefly shut down a left lane, leading to backups extending to Chamblee Tucker Road. An additional accident was noted on I-75 southbound close to Jonesboro Road.

In Midtown Atlanta, live updates indicated intensifying rainfall and water pooling on roads, resulting in dangerous driving situations. Authorities caution that the wet surfaces may cause more दुर्घ incidents during the ongoing morning commute.

Motorists should exercise caution, allot additional travel time, and be ready for decreased visibility and slippery roads. For current updates, follow SKYFOX Traffic on X.

Concurrently, the rain system is projected to introduce further opportunities for rainfall later in the week, accompanied by fluctuating temperatures as May approaches.
