In mid-March, just as spring seemed to arrive, the Gangwon region was hit by heavy snowfall exceeding 25 cm. Simultaneously, in the southern parts of the country, flower buds are beginning to open, painting the previously grey landscape with vibrant colors. Yet, the arrival of spring cannot be halted. Yellow adonis flowers are emerging through the snow, and sansuyu (cornelian cherry) blossoms have opened.
Saturday, March 14th, is expected to bring continued warm spring weather, with daytime temperatures climbing up to 15 degrees Celsius.
However, morning and evening temperatures will drop below 0 degrees Celsius, creating a significant daily temperature swing of around 15 degrees. Therefore, it’s advisable to dress warmly when outdoors to avoid catching a cold.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 13th, the lowest morning temperature on the 14th will range from -4 to 4 degrees Celsius, while the highest daytime temperature will be between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius.
