‘Temptation Island’ — Season 2
Fond of “guilty pleasure” reality TV? No judgment here; feel free to add “Temptation Island” to your weekend viewing list. This returning series once again pledges to “put relationships to the ultimate test,” which is really a polite way of saying its structure is engineered to generate intense conflicts and dramatic moments. This season arrived in its entirety on Friday, April 10, so you won’t have to endure weekly cliffhangers.
The premise of this reality program is straightforward: four couples facing commitment issues are transported to an idyllic tropical location, then kept apart for two weeks. During this period, each partner lives among a group of attractive singles, whose goal is to entice them away from their significant other. After two weeks, they reunite with their original partner and must decide whether to commit, leave with someone new, or depart the experience completely single.

‘Trust Me: The False Prophet’
If you trust the viewing habits of your fellow Netflix subscribers, then “Trust Me: The False Prophet” deserves your attention. This fresh four-part true crime docuseries quickly climbed to become the No. 1 most-watched show on Netflix within just two days of its release. While it largely adheres to the genre’s conventions, it offers a disturbing look into a highly manipulative figure.
In “Trust Me: The False Prophet,” a cult specialist and her videographer spouse undertake the challenging (and potentially hazardous) mission of infiltrating an FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) community in Utah. Their leader is Samuel Bateman, who purports to be the successor to Warren Jeffs, an incarcerated cult leader convicted of child sex crimes. As the pair integrates into Bateman’s inner circle, they uncover unsettling evidence and endeavor to help the indoctrinated members recognize the truth.

‘XO, Kitty’ — Season 3
If you haven’t started “XO, Kitty” yet, you have some catching up to do, as its third season premiered on Netflix earlier this month. Even over a week later, it remains a fixture in the platform’s top 10 most-watched list, highlighting its enduring appeal. In Tom’s Guide’s critique of “XO, Kitty” season 3, Josh Bell observed a notable improvement from the somewhat lackluster second season, commending these latest eight episodes for their compelling narrative and strong character development.
As a spin-off from the acclaimed “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” movie series, “XO Kitty” season 3 follows the titular protagonist (portrayed by Anna Cathcart) as she embarks on her senior year with ambitious plans for perfection.
