Today, Sorana Cîrstea (36 years old, ranked 26th in the WTA) conducted her training session at the iconic “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium, home to Real Madrid, as she prepares for her upcoming match against Coco Gauff in Madrid.
Sorana had an excellent start to her Madrid campaign, securing a straight-sets victory against Tyra Caterina Grant, with scores of 6-2, 7-6 (5). Her next challenge will be significantly tougher, facing world number 3, Coco Gauff, who has previously defeated her in both of their prior encounters.
Ahead of Sunday’s upcoming match, Sorana trained on the practice court set up within the renowned “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium, the home ground of Real Madrid.
Sorana commemorated this occasion by sharing a collection of photos and a video demonstrating some of her strokes.
Following her training session at the “Bernabeu,” Sorana Cîrstea received a compliment from Belinda Bencic: “Ideal Physique”
Sorana was dressed in a two-piece outfit consisting of turquoise leggings and a top, drawing an unusual compliment from fellow circuit player, Swiss Belinda Bencic.
“Body goals,” commented the world No. 12, a phrase that could be interpreted as “the perfect physique.”
Prior to her match against Coco Gauff, Sorana acknowledged, during a conversation with GSP, that she anticipates “a challenging encounter.”
“I am quite familiar with her tactically, and naturally, she knows my game too. I’m aware she performs slightly better on clay, so it will certainly be a tough match. She enjoys the conditions here, moves exceptionally well, and serves effectively. At the same time, we’ll see how I perform. I would have preferred more days of training here to acclimatize to the conditions,” the Romanian player added.
