FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Cowboys safety Markquese Bell faced arrest and charges for controlled substance possession and marijuana possession on Friday, as per records from the Collin County jail.

Prosper, Texas police carried out the arrest on Friday. Bell could face disciplinary action from the NFL in accordance with its personal conduct policy.

The Dallas Cowboys acknowledged the arrest but chose not to provide a statement.

Possessing a controlled substance constitutes a felony, whereas marijuana possession is categorized as a Class B misdemeanor.

Bell is currently in the second year of a $9 million, three-year contract. He has been with the Cowboys for the past four seasons, joining them as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Last season, he started three out of 17 games, registering 34 tackles, one sack, one pass deflection, and one pressure. Additionally, he recorded 10 special teams tackles.
