Following a tense exchange involving Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, and Dorit Kemsley in Italy, Dorit chose to depart in a car without Erika and Kyle, leaving them without transport. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Dorit clarified her reasons for abandoning the pair.
“From the moment we started the car ride there, I had my suspicions,” she revealed, referring to Kyle and Erika’s suggestion to go sightseeing and get gelato during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15, Episode 15. “And then with all this unfolding, I thought, ‘You know what? I’m out.’”
She felt manipulated by the situation. “There was already a palpable tension,” she recounted.
The discussion’s two-on-one dynamic ultimately pushed her to her breaking point. “Kyle makes it almost impossible [to have a private conversation]. She always ensures someone else is present to interrupt, preventing her from having to answer questions directly,” Dorit elaborated. “And that’s precisely what was happening. Frustration mounted. I could see in that moment—I stood up very quickly. I understood the situation completely.”
“Erika, in my opinion, was drawn to the dark side [by Kyle]. It was unmistakably clear,” Dorit further remarked.
Her decision took the others by surprise. “I certainly didn’t expect her to commandeer the production van and leave,” Erika commented on the After Show. “However, I don’t believe Dorit is in a frame of mind where she’s willing to listen. I’m unsure why she thinks I should remain uninvolved.”
Erika later added, “She almost, like, turned on me, and I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!” she exclaimed, and subsequently during the After Show stated, “I care for Dorit. I desire a friendship with Dorit…but there are boundaries. And this is my boundary. Like, you can’t tell me to be quiet and that kind of stuff—like, absolutely not.”

When Bozoma Saint John inquired whether Dorit had “intended to send the car back for them,” Dorit asserted, “They had a car.” (However, the March 26 RHOBH episode depicted Kyle and Erika waiting for nearly thirty minutes for a different vehicle after having to arrange for one themselves.)
Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne’s conflict with Dorit Kemsley in Italy, explained
For Dorit, the underlying issue dates back to “trust issues” with Kyle from Season 14. “The entire text message situation involving PK. This year, we’re supposedly working to restore our relationship. To get to a point where we genuinely trust each other,” she emphasized. “And how am I supposed to trust someone who’s talking poorly about me behind my back during my most vulnerable period?”
Throughout RHOBH Season 15, Kyle has openly voiced her sentiments regarding Dorit’s conduct, having discussed it at various times during the season with Boz, Erika, Kathy Hilton, Sutton Stracke, Amanda Frances, and Rachel Zoe.
“Dorit’s recent behavior has been incredibly odd. She’s either running late, or constantly on her phone,” Kyle remarked during the March 26 episode. “I’m concerned about her. I want to assist, or at least understand what’s going on.”
Subsequently, Dorit confronted Kyle about these group discussions: “All I know is, I’m being informed that Kyle is having these conversations claiming I’m acting erratically, and she brings up my lateness and my spending [money].”
“I’m not saying anything that hasn’t already been said by the rest of the group,” Kyle countered.
Dorit later insisted that Kyle simply needed to own “her own opinion,” and cease being “such an awful friend by involving my other friends.”
During the gelato excursion, Dorit reached her breaking point when she attempted to speak directly with Kyle. “Listen, I want to discuss the fact that I feel you have a genuinely difficult time showing me support,” she stated during the March 26 episode, alluding to her pending divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley. However, Kyle retorted that Dorit hadn’t inquired about Kyle’s own separation from Mauricio Umansky.
“How do you quantify support?” Dorit then asked Kyle, but it was Erika who interjected, “No, I think the real question is how do you quantify it, because you’re not experiencing it.”
Dorit became visibly annoyed by Erika “interjecting” herself into the discussion, but Erika firmly declared, “Yes, I am still going to do it. I’m not going to stop talking, Dorit.”
“This has been an absolute ambush,” Dorit lamented in her confessional. “Why on earth do these women believe they can do this? I’m not staying for this nonsense.”
Dorit then walked away, calling out, “Let’s go!” But when Kyle and Erika declined, she returned to the car alone and departed by herself.
“A friendship should not be this challenging,” Kyle noted on the After Show regarding the disastrous conversation. “I simply don’t need that. I just don’t.”
Upon Dorit, Kyle, and Erika’s return to the villa after their argument, and the other ‘Wives learning of the incident, Boz and Rachel voiced their apprehension about being drawn into the dispute.
“I don’t appreciate being pulled into this entire conversation, Kyle,” Boz shared in her confessional. “Because I had a concern, which I only expressed because you were discussing your concerns, and guess what? I addressed my concern directly with Dorit.”
Rachel added, “I have remarked, ‘Okay, she’s late. Okay, she’s like this.’ But I am not going to participate in statements like ‘I am worried about your finances. I’m worried about your spending. I’m worried that you’re not mentally stable.'” She informed producers, “I don’t know that to be accurate. I believe there needs to be a very clear distinction of ‘Who is you all? Who is we all?’ And I am not part of the ‘all.’”

Dorit provided another justification for her departure without Kyle and Erika. “I left because it didn’t feel like a constructive conversation. It didn’t feel gentle. It felt evasive. It felt aggressive,” Dorit explained to Kyle during dinner with the group. “What I told you was, ‘I want to discuss our friendship, how you’re feeling,’ and you consistently brought it back to the group.”
In case you missed it, Kyle previously hinted that the upcoming RHOBH Season 15 reunion would be “rough.”
