Duo of Bayern stars in pole position to claim coveted Ballon d’Or

Bayern Munich is enjoying a remarkably successful 2025-26 season, which could culminate in even greater triumphs, with Michael Olise currently leading the Score90 power rankings for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.

The French winger’s exceptional displays throughout the season, particularly in recent weeks, have elevated him to the top spot, surpassing even Barcelona’s emerging talent, Lamine Yamal.

A significant factor contributing to these shifts is their respective journeys in the Champions League. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid were knocked out in the quarter-finals, while Bayern advanced further.

Consequently, Olise is presently considered the primary contender for the Golden Ball. Interestingly, another player from the German record champions, Harry Kane, is hot on his heels.

The English striker has seen a substantial improvement in his standing since the last ranking, climbing from fifth to second place, leaving both Yamal and Kylian Mbappé behind.

Two additional players from Vincent Kompany’s squad also feature in the 20-man compilation – midfield orchestrator Joshua Kimmich is positioned ninth overall, and last summer’s acquisition, Luis Díaz, holds the eleventh position.

If a Bayern player manages to secure this highly sought-after award recognizing individual excellence, it would mark the first time the club has seen one of its players crowned World Player of the Year since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge achieved it in 1981.
