At a Netflix press event on Wednesday, the streaming platform’s Dan Lin and Jinny Howe revealed The Cackling of the Dodos, an upcoming feature film. Jason Bateman is slated to direct, with Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson cast in starring roles.
This movie signifies Netflix’s renewed collaboration with Bateman, who served as executive producer and star of both Ozark and Black Rabbit.
The plot of The Cackling of the Dodos revolves around George, a small-town farmer whose day takes a disastrous turn upon discovering a corpse in a grain bin. He is then unwillingly drawn into a chaotic, messy cover-up orchestrated by his boss, Denny. This film is adapted from an original screenplay by novelist Rye Curtis, known for Kingdomtide.
