The actor from “Ninth Passenger” disclosed that his departure from the ABC Studios production, which ran from 2004 to 2012, occurred after its first season as the writers “were unsure how to further develop his character’s arc.”
On the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast last week, he recalled, “Our creator, Marc Cherry, conveyed, ‘This isn’t ‘Desperate House Gardeners’; this is ‘Desperate Housewives,’ so regrettably, you will not be a series regular from this point onward.'”
Metcalfe informed Page Six on Friday that, at the time of his dismissal, he had secured a role in “John Tucker Must Die,” elaborating that “it wasn’t as significant a setback” given the film was already underway, but it nonetheless “spurred him to advance his professional path.”
The actor from “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt” disclosed his upcoming ventures, which encompass the James Cullen Bressack-helmed film “Boris Is Dead” and the K. Asher Levin-directed horror feature “The Possession at Gladstone Manor.”
Nevertheless, Metcalfe has extended his talents beyond the entertainment realm, introducing his skincare line, Nutrl Skin, last April.
The entrepreneur revealed that his brand presently offers four items — a facial cleanser, a moisturizer, and various serums — all formulated with “anti-aging and collagen-boosting” components.
