Kurt Russell on Golden Hawn, Granddaughter Rio Comparisons

Goldie Hawn’s celebrated family legacy appears poised to welcome another vibrant talent.

Her longtime partner, Kurt Russell, recently disclosed that their 12-year-old granddaughter, Rio Hudson—the daughter of Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett—might be the next family member to embark on a career in the entertainment industry.

“Rio is displaying some impressive talent when it comes to dancing,” the 74-year-old exclusively informed E! News during a recent interview with his son, Wyatt Russell. “There’s just something about her. A lot of people have started calling her ‘Mini Goldie.’”

Nevertheless, Kurt—who is set to star alongside Wyatt in season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, premiering February 27 on Apple TV—was quick to point out that the preteen’s artistic inclination also comes from her mother, adding, “Erinn was an actress before she met Oliver.”

Of course, Rio wouldn’t be the first of Kurt and Goldie’s grandchildren to enter the family profession, given that her brothers, 18-year-old Wilder Hudson and 15-year-old Bodhi Hudson, as well as her cousin Ryder Robinson, 22—the eldest son of Kate Hudson—have already begun taking on acting roles.
