Lana Condor: I believe Lara Jean has matured considerably. Viewers last saw her heading off to college, marking approximately a four-year gap.

Lana Condor: It feels surreal to step back into the role of Lara Jean after all this time. After the trilogy, I truly felt I had bid her farewell, so it’s a immense pleasure to return, see Anna, immerse myself in her world, and fulfill the dream of working with her again.

[CLIP] Kitty Song Covey: This is a little dramatic, even for you.

Anna Cathcart: As a young actor in the movies, I was part of Lara Jean’s narrative, finding Kitty’s place within it. Now, we’re essentially in Kitty’s own story, which is quite surreal for me. Having Lana join us in this setting, here in Seoul, and at the KISS campus, is incredibly special and a complete full-circle moment that my 14-year-old self definitely wouldn’t have believed.

Anna Cathcart: We concluded filming the third movie in Seoul, so our last on-screen appearance together was in Korea, and now we’re back in the same city. The best part about collaborating with Lana again is how effortlessly we reconnected; it feels like no time has passed. We’ve instantly slipped back into our comfortable dynamic, both as friends and as sisters on screen. I’m deeply grateful for Lana’s presence, which means so much.

[CLIP] Lara Jean Song Covey: Wow. [crying] I think if Mom could see you now, she’d be so proud of you. I know I am.

Anna Cathcart: Reconnecting with our sisterly dynamic is exceptionally meaningful because the sisterhood is one of my favorite elements of the ‘To All the Boys’ universe. I believe Lara Jean’s presence brings out a side of Kitty that isn’t always visible in the series. My reactions and feelings in this particular scene are distinct from Kitty’s interactions with any other character in the show, largely because her more childish side emerges when she’s with her big sister, which has been enjoyable to explore.

Lana Condor: The last time viewers saw Lara Jean, she was off to college, so approximately four years have passed. I think she’s considerably more confident and mature now, but I also believe she still maintains her inherently sweet outlook on life. Working with Anna again is simply the best; our dynamic remains unchanged. We instantly fell back into our sisterly connection, and seeing her now, as an adult, is incredibly exciting. She’s performing brilliantly, and it’s truly impressive.

Anna Cathcart: When I first started the movies, I was at a highly impressionable age – 14 and in high school – and I learned an immense amount from her. Even now, I’m certainly still gaining insights from her. I believe she excels at advocating for herself, and she’s taught me how to do the same.

Lana Condor: It’s incredibly thrilling to witness Anna finally shining in her own spotlight. No one deserves it more; she is phenomenal. I vividly recall when I first heard about the spin-off, I wondered what it would be about. When they told me it would focus on Kitty, I immediately thought, ‘Good, that’s precisely how it should be,’ because I always felt Kitty was such an amazing, funny, sweet, and crucial character to the inception of this world we created.

[CLIP] Lara Jean Song Covey: I love you, Kitty.

[CLIP] Kitty Song Covey: I love you too, LJ.

[CLIP] Lara Jean Song Covey: But please don’t make me fly across the world to fix your life again.

[CLIP] Kitty Song Covey: I’ll try my best.

[Lara Jean laughs]

Anna Cathcart: Good night.

Lana Condor: Bye. Thanks for being here.
