LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao’s boxing journey is far from over, as he is set to step back into the squared circle on April 18. He will compete in a 10-round welterweight exhibition bout against former junior welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov.
The 47-year-old Pacquiao’s most recent professional outing was on July 19, a contest against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios that concluded in a majority draw defeat for Pacquiao. While two judges rendered a tied scorecard, Max DeLuca ultimately gave Barrios a 115-113 win.
This outcome adjusted Pacquiao’s professional record to 62 wins, 9 losses, and 2 draws.
In an official statement, Pacquiao conveyed his enthusiasm: “Coming back to Las Vegas holds immense significance for me, and I’m thrilled to collaborate with a team dedicated to delivering a premier experience for our supporters. I am returning to offer them an unforgettable fight – and I am fully prepared.”
This upcoming contest is scheduled to take place at the Thomas & Mack Center. This venue was the site of several prominent boxing events throughout the 1990s, preceding the establishment of the MGM Grand Garden Arena and subsequently the T-Mobile Arena, which later emerged as the principal venues for elite matchups in Las Vegas.
