Instructions for Playing Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 each and are available for purchase in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Purchases can be made at various outlets such as local convenience stores, gas stations, or supermarkets. Depending on state regulations, Powerball tickets may also be acquired online in certain areas.
After obtaining your ticket, you are required to select six numbers. Five numbers correspond to white balls, ranging from 1 to 69. The red Powerball number is chosen from 1 to 26. Players have the option to include a “Power Play” for an additional $1, which boosts the payout for all prizes except the jackpot. This “Power Play” feature can multiply non-jackpot winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X.
Should you prefer the computer to choose your numbers, the “Quick Pick” selection is also offered. To claim the grand prize, participants need to correctly match all five white ball numbers in any sequence, along with the red Powerball.
Powerball draws take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. If the jackpot remains unclaimed, its monetary value will continue to increase.
