Bus Delays Possible for NEISD and NISD
SAN ANTONIO – Due to severe weather, schools and higher education institutions across the San Antonio region are assessing the situation this Friday morning.
>> Multiple storm systems are forecast to deliver substantial rainfall until Friday night
As of Friday at 6:30 a.m., at least one local district has confirmed class cancellations. Here is the updated information:
-
IDEA San Antonio: Classes will start two hours late.
-
Marion ISD: A two-hour postponement for the start of the school day.
-
Northside ISD: Expect potential bus delays.
-
North East ISD: Bus services could experience delays.
-
Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD: All schools and administrative offices are shut down for Friday.
-
Southwest ISD: Bus routes might run late.
-
University of the Incarnate Word: Operations will be postponed until 10 a.m.
Until 10 a.m., a Flood Warning remains active for Bexar, Medina, Comal, and Guadalupe counties, coinciding with the arrival of another storm front during the morning rush. Motorists should exercise caution and be vigilant for standing water on roadways.
Although a significant portion of the rain will be helpful, there’s a strong chance of localized heavy downpours which could lead to flooded streets.
The primary worries are low-lying regions and areas with inadequate drainage (particularly construction sites), coupled with the potential for strong winds and isolated hail.
