Actress Sarah Pidgeon, known for her current role as Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in FX’s Love Story, made her entrance at the Actor Awards wearing a gown from Balenciaga’s Spring 2026 collection.

This particular ensemble marks Pierpaolo Piccioli’s inaugural runway collection since taking on the role of Balenciaga’s Creative Director.

This strapless, blush pink creation originally debuted on the catwalk.

Commenting on his premiere collection, Piccioli stated, “I wanted to introduce volume, form, and silhouette, much like Cristóbal Balenciaga did,” referencing the iconic founder’s design philosophy.

Pidgeon opted for a relaxed ponytail, styled low at the nape of her neck.

Pidgeon noted that Bessette’s wardrobe was instrumental in shaping her portrayal of the character. She added, “My absolute favorite items were the [Yohji] Yamamoto pieces she donned. I’m uncertain if she realized it, but Yamamoto conceptualizes clothing design as a form of armor for women.”

The actress further explained, “My understanding, or at least my interpretation, of her dynamic with the press is that she was extremely private. Therefore, it felt entirely logical, and you could sense it when wearing those garments. They compel you to carry yourself differently; they contain and shield you.”

Lauren Santo Domingo observed in the February edition of Town & Country that, “CBK’s style transcended individual items; it was fundamentally about her attitude.”

“Many tend to idealize her understated elegance as a profound, deliberate embrace of minimalism,” she clarified. “However, I contend the reality is far more straightforward: She was a young professional in the fashion industry, meticulously selecting designer items within a practical budget. She wasn’t crafting a sartorial statement; she was merely navigating fashion like many others—just with considerably greater flair than most.”
