The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will posthumously welcome former WWE Champion “Sycho” Sid Eudy as a legacy inductee.
A two-time WWE Champion, Sid stood out as one of his era’s most formidable and intimidating competitors, possessing a natural magnetism that captivated audiences weekly.
Following a notable run in WCW, Sid made his WWE debut as Sid Justice, taking on the role of Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam 1991 for a 3-on-2 Handicap Match featuring WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior against The Triangle of Terror.
Later that evening, at Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth’s memorable newlywed reception, Sid intervened to protect the couple from a sinister assault by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker.
After a hiatus, Sid triumphantly re-entered WWE as “Sycho Sid,” forming an alliance with Shawn Michaels and supporting him ringside at WrestleMania XI during The Heartbreak Kid’s challenge for the WWE Title against Diesel.
This marked the start of their storied rivalry, culminating in Sid capturing the WWE Championship from Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 1996, thereby entering the esteemed lineage of titleholders. Following a loss of the championship back to Michaels, Sid reclaimed the gold to become a two-time champion by conquering Bret Hart on the February 17, 1997 episode of Raw.
Having cemented his status as one of professional wrestling’s most formidable figures, Sid rejoined WCW in 1999, promptly rising to the main event picture and engaging in intense contests against icons such as Hulk Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Booker T, and numerous others.
A significant injury in 2001 posed a threat to Sid’s career, yet he defied expectations by returning to the independent circuit, with his comeback match notably including future WWE Superstar Sami Zayn.
Though Sid passed away in 2024, his lasting influence continues to resonate throughout professional wrestling globally.
Affectionately known as “The Master and Ruler of the World,” Sid’s legacy in WWE was solidified by his reputation as an exceptionally tough and visually compelling Superstar, and he is now set to join his legendary peers in the WWE Hall of Fame.
