MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) — An Illinois Lottery participant in Southern Illinois has become a millionaire, securing almost $1.5 million through a winning FastPlay ticket.
The Illinois Lottery reported that an individual claimed a $1,498,172 jackpot prize from the $30 FastPlay Cash Castle game. The fortunate purchase occurred at Hucks, situated at 540 Fairfield Road in Mount Vernon.
In recognition of selling the winning ticket, the Hucks store is set to receive a bonus of $14,982, which represents 1% of the overall jackpot.
The Cash Castle game is a $30 progressive FastPlay option, boasting an initial jackpot of $100,000—the largest starting prize among all Illinois Lottery FastPlay games. This jackpot steadily increases with every ticket purchased across the state until a winner emerges.
Lottery officials have specified that the fortunate winner has a one-year window from the draw date to claim their prize. Participants are advised to endorse the reverse side of their ticket and keep it securely until they are prepared to collect their winnings.
The identity of the fortunate recipient remains undisclosed at this time.
