TrumpRx expands with 2 new drug makers offering prescription discounts

EXCLUSIVE: FOX Business has learned that the White House is preparing to announce that more pharmaceutical companies will be offering discounted drugs on TrumpRx.gov.

Amgen and GSK are expected to join the list of drug manufacturers providing discounts on the government’s website as soon as today. This brings the total to 54 prescription medications from six pharmaceutical firms participating in the “most-favored-nation” pricing scheme, influenced by President Donald Trump’s pressure and tariff warnings.

Amgen plans to list a medication on the site at an 80% reduction from its retail cost. For example, Amjevita, originally priced at $1,484, will be sold for $299 on TrumpRx.gov. This drug is used to treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and ulcerative colitis.

White House spokesman Kush Desai informed FOX Business that “GSK and Amgen’s participation with TrumpRx.gov, enabling them to provide prescription drugs directly to consumers at most-favored-nation pricing, represents another significant achievement for President Trump’s initiative to make healthcare more affordable.”

Desai added, “However, TrumpRx.gov is merely the start; Americans can anticipate even larger drug pricing discounts, reduced insurance premiums, and increased transparency once Congress approves President Trump’s Great Healthcare Plan.”

Major pharmaceutical companies are represented by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).

Stephen Ubl, the CEO, stated his belief that “government-mandated most-favored-nation policies would diminish U.S. competitiveness and fail to resolve insurance practices that restrict access to care and increase patient expenses.”

He further argued, “Such policies would divert billions from American research and development, impede the discovery of new cures, and heighten dependence on China for future breakthroughs.”
