The popular reality series “Survivor” is proudly marking its milestone 50th season.
The current season commenced on Wednesday, February 25, with an extensive three-hour premiere episode. Notably, this new season will culminate in a live finale on May 20, a format returning for the first time since Season 39.
Season 50 is also being presented as “In the Hands of the Fans,” featuring a lineup of 24 returning “Survivor” all-stars competing for the coveted $1 million prize. Host Jeff Probst revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Season 50 has been “the most fun I’ve ever had on a season of ‘Survivor.'” He attributed this enjoyment to the fan-dictated gameplay, which fostered unpredictability and compelled contestants to “leave everything they had in them” within the challenging Fiji jungles.
