Gunther is known for ending the careers of popular WWE Superstars, but his next likely opponent could be a pleasing prospect for many fans.
The Ring General’s path to a championship opportunity at WrestleMania 42 was seemingly derailed on Raw after Dragon Lee’s intervention caused him to lose his triple threat qualifying match for the Men’s Elimination Chamber. Nevertheless, he is still expected to play a significant role at the event.
Having been aptly dubbed the “Career Killer” earlier this year for concluding the WWE careers of notable figures like Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the question arises: with WWE’s premier annual event drawing near, will the former World Champion aim to retire yet another legend at the *Showcase of the Immortals*?

During a recent appearance on The Morning Shift on 92.9 The Game, WWE Superstar Gunther, known as The Career Killer, indicated his willingness to be the one to end Brock Lesnar’s in-ring career when questioned about the possibility of retiring *The Beast Incarnate* this year.
“That’s an interesting idea, isn’t it? Well, we shall see,” Gunther hinted. He continued, “I believe there are numerous instances of individuals who linger past their prime, perhaps clinging too long in pursuit of one last significant moment. It seems there are many contenders one could choose from.”
Amusingly, Gunther also quipped about potentially concluding Michael Cole’s WWE announcing tenure, remarking, “He can be irritating, can’t he? Yes, Michael Cole, I sometimes think that. He’s been around for such a long time; sometimes I just look at him and think, ‘Go home, man. You’ve done your bit. It’s time.’ But I’ll concentrate on my fellow wrestlers initially, and then we’ll consider that.”
At what point would it be ideal for Gunther to retire Brock Lesnar?

Currently, it appears the question isn’t whether Gunther will retire Brock Lesnar, but rather the timing of it.
An encounter between *The Ring General* and *The Beast Incarnate* was originally slated for the previous year’s WrestleMania, but these plans changed after Lesnar’s name surfaced in the legal action involving Janel Grant, Vince McMahon, and WWE. Nevertheless, Lesnar made his comeback to the company months afterward at SummerSlam, where he confronted John Cena.
Although Gunther’s path to WrestleMania 42 appears ambiguous at present, a significant portion of the WWE Universe is eager to witness Lesnar challenge Oba Femi at the *Showcase of the Immortals*, especially following their confrontation in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Should fan desires be met, *SummerSlam* in Brock Lesnar’s announced hometown of Minneapolis later this year would be an excellent alternative venue.
Irrespective of when this match occurs, it is evident that *The Beast*’s active career is nearing its end, and Gunther is poised to further enhance his reputation by concluding the career of another WWE Legend.
