Jon Hamm confirmed he is acutely aware that his jubilant dance move, originating from “Your Friends & Neighbors”, has achieved staggering viral fame in recent months.
During a Thursday morning chat on “Good Morning America,” Hamm recounted that the now-iconic clip, depicting him with closed eyes, swaying rhythmically in a nightclub, was initially brought to his attention by news anchor Brian Williams.

“It’s the weirdest story ever, because the first person to send me this thing — and it was probably in December 2025, maybe November — was Brian Williams,” Hamm shared.
The “Mad Men” veteran revealed it wasn’t long before he grasped the immense viral reach of the brief video.
“It was tremendous… and then, two days later, the world started sending me that.”
Hamm also took the opportunity to delve into his latest animated Pixar venture, “Hoppers,” where he lends his voice alongside talents such as Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, Eduardo Franco, Aparna Nancherla, Sam Richardson, and others.

Hamm portrays Mayor Jerry Generazzo in the forthcoming movie, which revolves around a groundbreaking technology enabling human consciousness to inhabit robotic animal bodies.
Regarding his character, Hamm commented, “He’s — let’s call him an antagonist at the beginning, but he does go on an emotional journey, and he figures out that maybe the better way to resolve conflict is to listen to the other side rather than just ignore. Maybe a lot of us could learn from that lesson.”
The actor confessed to becoming deeply moved when he first viewed the film at its premiere.
“I was crying like a 4-year-old at the end of that movie. It works, it’s so great,” he exclaimed.
Other “Hoppers” cast members, Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda, also made an appearance on “GMA” earlier this week to promote the film, which is set to hit theaters on March 6.
The official synopsis for the film asks, “What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film ‘Hoppers,’ scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals!”
Hamm concluded his Thursday interview by reflecting on his recent experience hosting the NFL Honors, the league’s annual end-of-season awards ceremony.
“I love the NFL. I played football as a young man. It’s really fun. And to celebrate the guys, only one team can win the Super Bowl, but a lot of those boys deserve flowers, so I love giving them out,” he stated.
