Jonathan Majors Makes Movie Comeback In Daily Wire Action Film

EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Creed III and Ant-Man, has commenced filming his first movie in four years. Production is currently underway in South Carolina for an untitled action project from The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend.

Kyle Rankin (director of Run Hide Fight) is helming the film from his own script. While details regarding the title, plot, and additional cast members remain confidential, the narrative is described as echoing ’80s and ’90s action films such as Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers, both of which centered on groups of adolescent boys uniting to repel invading forces.

Ben Shapiro (The Ben Shapiro Show) and Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk) are serving as producers for The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, respectively. Travis Mills (Frontier Crucible), Lillian Campbell (The Pendragon Cycle), and Sydney Aucreman (Terror On The Prairie) are also credited as producers.

Majors’ career gained significant momentum with performances in films like The Last Black Man in San Francisco,  Creed III, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Magazine Dreams, alongside the HBO horror series Lovecraft Country. However, he was subsequently removed from multiple projects after being found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2023. The actor has been working to rebuild his career since then and is also slated to star in the supernatural revenge thriller Merciless by Martin Villeneuve, a project initially announced in summer 2024.

The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend have a track record of providing opportunities to “cancelled” actors, aiding in the resurgence of their careers. These conservative media entities, fresh off their largest production to date, the TV series The Pendragon Cycle, previously cast Armie Hammer and Gina Carano in comeback roles following her departure from The Mandalorian.

Caleb Robinson and Mike Richards are executive producing the new film for The Daily Wire. Jonathan Majors will also executive produce under Tall Street Productions, joined by Jason Ramos (Landman).

Kristopher Kimlin (Young Washington) has been appointed as the cinematographer, and David Guglielmo (The Standoff At Sparrow Creek) will oversee casting. Vincent Reynaud (Kandahar) is the production designer, with Emma Fleming (The Last Stop In Yuma County) handling costume design.

This project signifies a reunion between The Daily Wire, Bonfire Legend, and director Kyle Rankin, who previously collaborated on their film Run Hide Fight. That movie, starring Isabel May and Thomas Jane, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.

Majors is represented by WME and Fox Rothschild. Rankin’s representation includes UTA, Greenlit Management, and attorney Stephen Clark.
