LIVE: Storm damage and power outages across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan

Widespread power outages have been reported as severe weather impacts northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Here’s what the WTOL 11 Weather team is monitoring.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Intense storms currently moving through the Toledo metropolitan area are causing extensive power outages, downed lines, and hazardous driving conditions. WTOL 11’s team of meteorologists has issued a WEATHER IMPACT ALERT for Thursday evening, and continues to provide timely updates to keep you informed during the storm.

All active weather warnings for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan have now expired.

At approximately 6 p.m., pea-sized hail was observed falling near Oak Harbor in Ottawa County. Hail reports also came in from Liberty Center and Perrysburg around the same time.

Near Bryan, Ohio, and throughout Henry County, hail ranging from quarter to golf ball-sized has been reported. 

Just across the state border in Lenawee County, roadway flooding has been reported near Adrian College.

Approximately 44 customers near the Toledo Express Airport are currently without power due to a fallen tree. FirstEnergy estimates a restoration time of 10:30 p.m.

In Grand Rapids, Ohio, along McClure, just under 1,000 people are experiencing power outages, pending investigation. No estimated restoration time has been issued.

Near Paulding on State Route 111, nearly 60 customers close to the Paulding County Emergency Hospital are without power, with approximately 100 additional customers in the county also affected.

North of Bryan in Pulaski, over 200 customers are facing outages, with an expected restoration time of 11:30 p.m.

Near Wauseon, about 80 customers are without power. The cause of this outage is currently unknown, but a projected restoration time is 11:30 p.m.
