Nancy Guthrie live updates today: Man detained last week identified; FBI has reached out to Mexico authorities, sources say

According to an attorney representing a convicted felon, his client and mother were briefly held as part of the ongoing Nancy Guthrie investigation.

Luke Daley, aged 37, and his 77-year-old mother were detained, and their home was searched on February 13, as reported by their lawyer, Chris Scileppi. Their residence is located approximately two miles from Guthrie’s.

Chris Scileppi confirmed that Daley, who has previously served time in state prison for drug-related offenses, was the focus of an operation by the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department. However, he emphasized that neither Daley nor his mother were arrested, and he stated they have no connection to Guthrie.

“Like the entire Tucson community, both Mr. Daley and his mother are hopeful that Nancy will be returned to her family unharmed,” Scileppi said in a statement.

Daley was the second individual questioned and subsequently released, following an earlier stop involving a deliveryman who identified himself as Carlos. ABC News has previously reported that investigators are now less inclined to consider either man as a suspect.
