Sarah Pidgeon is reportedly in negotiations to join Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature, Honeymoon With Harry.
Pidgeon recently garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Carolyn Bessette in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Her other notable roles include Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, David Siegel’s The Friend, and her performance as Diana in the Broadway production of Stereophonic.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are set to direct Honeymoon With Harry, working from a screenplay penned by Dan Fogelman. This creative trio previously collaborated on the dramedy Crazy, Stupid, Love and reunited for the Fogelman-created Hulu series Paradise. Amazon MGM had previously secured the rights to this long-developed feature dramedy and attached Costner and Gyllenhaal to star.
Based on Bart Baker’s novel, the film’s narrative centers on “a gruff man who finds himself sharing an unexpected journey with his fiancée’s particular and protective father after unforeseen circumstances derail their plans. Set against the backdrop of an island honeymoon, the two men initially clash and quarrel before gradually discovering an improbable connection in this heartfelt dramedy,” according to a synopsis provided by the producers.
The plot reveals Gyllenhaal’s character embarking on the honeymoon with his prospective father-in-law, portrayed by Costner, following the tragic death of his fiancée just two days before their wedding. Producing credits for Honeymoon With Harry are shared by Fogelman, Mike Karz, and Jennifer Salke. This project marks Salke’s initial venture with Amazon MGM and her debut as a producer under her Sullivan Street Productions banner.
Pidgeon is professionally represented by Gersh and Anonymous Content.
