Quarterback Kenny Pickett has reportedly finalized a one-year, $7.5 million contract with the Carolina Panthers, a deal that includes $4 million in guaranteed money, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed on Monday.
Pickett, 27 years old, served as the backup quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders last season, behind starter Geno Smith. He saw action in six games and started two, accumulating 188 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Pickett finished the season with a 62.2% completion rate and a QBR of 3.4.
The Raiders acquired Pickett last August by trading a fifth-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns. This transaction occurred after backup Aidan O’Connell was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury.
Drafted by the Steelers in the first round in 2022, Pickett spent his initial two seasons in Pittsburgh before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2024. His record as a starter is 16 wins and 11 losses.
Through 36 career games, with 27 starts, Pickett has thrown for a total of 4,953 yards, along with 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
